You can use reds—you can use greys. You CAN use anything under the sun, but it’s often best to keep things nice and simple. Say you’re making cards in your design—should you use red and blue backgrounds, forcing you to set your type in reverse (white on dark)? Or should you use a grey background with dark red and blue text?
The latter—it’s cleaner.
